Author Leslie K. Wilkes was born in Compton, California, the youngest of his parent’s three children. Growing up in the roughest neighborhood in Compton, Wilkes managed to live past the age of twenty-six—at a time when most African American males didn’t—by outgrowing the “myth of the streets.” A businessman from an early age, Wilkes has worked for the past thirty years with various companies and is now the founder and CEO of WLL Enterprises, Inc., a nutritional center which helps to provide low income families the means to lead healthier lives through education, fitness and nutrition.
To ensure WLL Enterprises is as effective in dealing with our youth and their families, Wilkes became certified in Fitness & Nutrition. Wilkes also decided to get his message directly to our youth so now has seven (7) children's books. These books are designed to bring awareness about healthy eating.
